However, we do have the total number of convictions for recordable offences relating to persistent young offenders convicted of one or more recordable offences in 1998. 239 were sentenced on one or more occasions following apprehension by Staffordshire Police. Of these, 69 had been sentenced for a total of between five and nine recordable offences, 107 had been sentenced for between 10 and 19 recordable offences, 49 had been sentenced for between 20 and 49 recordable offences, and six had been sentenced for 50 or more recordable offences. The remaining eight individuals had been sentenced for four recordable offences each.
