§ Dr. ReidI welcome the announcement made by my right hon. and noble Friend the Minister for Transport on 14 February 2000. The agreement between National Air Traffic Services Ltd. and Lockheed Martin for the provision of air traffic control systems for the New Scottish Centre ends any uncertainty about its future. The 530 jobs at Prestwick will be secured and the construction phase for the new centre will create about 700 jobs during the three-year construction phase, which will begin next year.
