To ask the Secretary of State for Health when he expects to make an announcement on the future of community hospitals in Oxfordshire; and if he will make a statement. [95984]

[holding answer 27 October 1999]: My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State fully recognises the concerns of the local community on such an important issue.

My right hon. Friend the Secretary of State is carefully considering all options before reaching a final decision on the future arrangements for community hospitals in Oxfordshire and the future of Bicester Community Hospital.
