§ Lord Berkeleyasked Her Majesty's Government:
For each multi-modal and road based study:
- (a) what are the names and affiliations of the chairmen and members of steering committees supervising each study;
- (b) whether they are considering options for reducing traffic, including better public transport and more rail-freight; and
- (c) what consultation is planned with public transport and rail-freight interests. [HL4167]
§ Lord WhittyThe current membership of steering groups for all the first tranche of multi-modal and road based studies is set out below. There will be an opportunity for all interested parties to contribute to the studies. The exact consultation arrangements will vary between individual studies and in many, wider reference groups have been established as well as the steering group. The views of passenger transport and rail-freight interests will be particularly important in developing practical alternatives to road based solutions.
