To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what is the estimated cost of refurbishing the Treasury. [94467]

§ Mr. Timms
The plans for the refurbishment of the Treasury accommodation in the building were announced by the former Chief Secretary on 27 July 1999,Official Report, columns 400-01. The design and build costs of the current project within the Private Finance Initiative package are £113 million. The non-Treasury space will be developed and let by the Private Sector Partner to other public sector bodies.
