HC Deb 19 October 1999 vol 336 cc470-1W
Mr. David Atkinson

To ask the Secretary of State for Health if he will make a statement of progress on the millennium readiness of his Department's computer systems, and those for which it is responsible in the provision of public services; if contingency plans are in place; and what slippage has occurred since the July Quarterly report to the House. [93568]

Ms Stuart

Details of progress by the Department, its executive agencies and the National Health Service in tackling the millennium bug are set out in the appropriate monitoring returns. Those for the Department are available in the Library and are published on the Internet. The returns for individual NHS organisations are published on the Internet at: http://www. imc.exec.nhs.uk/2000

The results of the latest review of progress by Departments will be announced shortly in Parliament by the President of the Council. The latest results for the NHS are due to be announced at the Action 2000 National Infrastructure Forum on 20/21 October.

The Department and its Executive Agencies have completed all essential Year 2000 work by the published deadlines. Contingency plans for the Department have been prepared.

All NHS organisations have completed their compliance programmes or have contingency arrangements in place.
