To ask the Secretary of State for Health what progress the Government have made on proposed legislation on the registration of home care companies; and if he will make a statement. [94440]

Mr. Hutton

We are committed to reforming regulatory arrangements for care homes and other social services as set out in the White Paper "Modernising Social services". We will legislate for these reforms as soon as Parliamentary time allows.
