When the Police National Computer Centre plans to start an impact assessment for the proposed central register, required under Section 39 of the Firearms (Amendment) Act 1997, or persons who have applied for a firearm or shotgun certificate or to whom a firearm or shotgun certificate has been granted; when the impact assessment will be completed; and whether they will arrange for a summary of the conclusions from the assessment to be placed in the Library of the House. § Lord Bassam of BrightonI understand that the Police Information Technology Organisation plan to begin work on the impact assessment in February next year, and to complete it in April; and that they are happy for a copy of the impact assessment to be placed in the Library.
