§ Lord Hylton
asked Her Majesty's Government:
How many arrests have been made under the Criminal Justice (Terrorism and Conspiracy) Act 1998; and how many prosecutions have been brought. [HL2206]124WA
§ The Minister of State, Home Office (Lord Williams of Mostyn):
Records indicate that, as of 6 May 1999, no cases have come to court in the United Kingdom involving the use of the powers in Sections 1 to 4 of the Criminal Justice (Terrorism and Conspiracy) Act 1998 (concerning proscribed and specified organisations).
Similarly, we are not aware of any court cases under Sections 5 to 7 of the Act (conspiracy to commit offences outside the United Kingdom). Information on the number of people arrested by type of offence is not recorded centrally.
