I am replying to your questions to the Secretary of State about the number of people employed in the Naval Manning Agency and the costs of publication of the Agency's 1997–98 Report, as these matters fall within my area of responsibility as Chief Executive of the Naval manning Agency.The Agency currently employs 278 people including four part-time personnel. On Vesting Day (1 July 1996) the Agency employed 292 personnel.483WThe proof copy of the Agency's 1997–98 Annual Report and Accounts was produced on 28 January 1999, and a copy has been placed in the Library of the House. The final version of the Report is currently with the printers and should be published in April. The cost is expected to be similar to last year's at around £1,600.I hope you find this helpful.
