Friend the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions wrote to leaders of councils in England enclosing a copy of the report of the National Carers' Strategy, highlighting the role of local authorities in supporting carers, and asking them to draw the report to the attention of everyone within the authority. A copy of the report has also been sent to all Directors of Housing, Social Services and Education in local authorities in England.
