To ask the Secretary of State for Foreign and Commonwealth Affairs what representations he has made to the Government of Russia about the supply of weapons to countries in the middle east. [74943]

During my right hon. Friend the Foreign Secretary's visit to Russia on 2–5 March, he discussed with Foreign Minister Ivanov the dangers of arms exports and assistance to countries of concern, including the recent speculation about Russian arms exports to Iraq. He has noted the Russian Government's strong statements that they are committed to upholding UN sanctions.
