I am replying to your Question to the Secretary of State for Defence about the number of people employed by the RAF Logistics Support Services and the production date and cost of its report for the year 1997–98 as this matter falls within the areas of responsibility of the Chief Executive of Logistics Support Services Agency. The Chief Executive, who is away on business, has agreed the content of this reply. On Agency vesting in December 1996, the established strength of Logistics Support Services was 1201 personnel; the current establishment is 1107.Logistics Support Services was not directed to produce an Annual Report for 1997–98 and therefore incurred no costs. The first published report and accounts will be for 1998–99.
