To ask the Secretary of State for Health how much money, in real terms, has been spent on front-line care in the NHS in each year since 1979. [76035]

However, information on expenditure by programme of care within hospital and community health services is provided each year to the Health Select Committee's Public Expenditure Inquiry (HC959), copies of which are available in the Library.
