HL Deb 16 March 1999 vol 598 c85WA
The Earl of Mar and Kellie

asked Her Majesty's Government:

Whether it is their intention that, at the end of the current review of the National Curriculum, every child will have the opportunity to experience outdoor adventure education. [HL1452]

The Minister of State, Department for Education and Employment (Baroness Blackstone)

The review of the National Curriculum for the year 2000 is looking at all areas of the school curriculum. This includes outdoor and adventurous activities, which is one of six areas of activity in the National Curriculum for Physical Education. We will be consulting widely on draft proposals for a revised National Curriculum during the summer, before final decisions are taken.
