§ Baroness Symons of Vernham DeanAll five Permanent Members of the UN Security Council are already committed to pursuing systematic and progressive efforts to reduce nuclear weapons globally, with the ultimate goal of eliminating those weapons, under the Nuclear Non Proliferation Treaty.
We have made it clear that we will consider any steps that would make a practical contribution to advancing nuclear disarmament.
