HC Deb 04 March 1999 vol 326 c824W
Mr. Beggs

To ask the Secretary of State for Northern Ireland how many persons in Northern Ireland are registered as pensioners; and how many(a) males over 65 years and (b) females over 60 years use concessionary fare schemes. [73985]

Mr. McFall

The latest available information shows that at 15 January 1999 there were 237,546 persons in receipt of State Retirement Pension. This total is comprised of 82,963 males and 154,583 females.

The Department of the Environment for Northern Ireland does not hold figures for males over 65 years and females over 60 years who use concessionary fare schemes.
