§ Mr. WilsonThe EU has not discussed requirements for labelling of fur products. However, consumers themselves have a role to play here by requesting information about products before buying. The Trade Descriptions Act 1968 and the Control of Misleading Advertisements Regulations prohibit false or misleading information about products. If a trader is unwilling to provide clear information, consumers can exercise their right to shop elsewhere. I have initiated consultation with ministerial colleagues on what further steps might be taken.
