§ Mr. StrawThe agreement on this subject was adopted by the Schengen Executive Committee on 28 April. The Government were not involved in drawing it up and it does not at present apply to the United Kingdom. The United Kingdom has recently applied to participate in certain parts of the Schengen acquis, but has reserved its position on whether it would wish to become a party to the agreement on road traffic offences.
