To ask the Chancellor of the Excheuer what proportion and number of people in each of the regions to be covered by the new regional development agencies are in the age range (a) 50 to 65 years, (b) 65 to 85 years, (c) 85 and over, (d) above pensionable age and (e) above 50 years; what proportion of the population as a whole in each region these figures represent; and if he will provide figures on the same basis showing the estimated population figures for (i) 2004, (ii) 2009, (iii) 2014, (iv) 2019 and (v) 2024.
