To ask the Secretary of State for Health how many prosecutions have been made for breaches of the Imported Food Regulations 1984 since they came into force. [92697]

The general provisions of the Imported Food Regulations 1984 and the Imported Food (Scotland) Regulations 1985 were replaced by the Imported Food Regulations 1997, which apply to the whole of Great Britain. Figures on the number of prosecutions under these Regulations are not kept centrally.
