To ask the Secretary of State for Defence how many personnel have(a) left and (b) joined the (i) Army, (ii) Navy and (iii) RAF in the last two years for which figures are available. [88704]

[pursuant to his reply 2 July 1999, c. 293]: I regret to inform the hon. Member that some of the information I gave was incorrect. For outflow of UK Regular Forces between 1 April 1998–31 March 1999, the figure for the Royal Air Force should read 4,889 and the total should read 27,435.
