§ Ms Glenda Jackson[holding answer 15 July 1999]: Since 2 May 1997, 14 new bus lanes have been created on trunk roads. Seven of these involved additional carriageway lanes and seven reduced the number of lanes available for other vehicles.
Non-trunk roads are the responsibility of the local highway authority. Information is not kept in the form requested and could be provided only at disproportionate cost.
