§ Mr. PrescottI have announced today details of the successful bids under Round 5 of the Single Regeneration Budget. Brief descriptions of the successful bids in their region have been sent to hon. Members in English constituencies. Full copies of the bid documents for successful bids by region will be held for inspection at the relevant Regional Development Agency and the Government Office for London.
SRB Round 5 operated under bidding guidance issued in September 1998. Subject to finalising the details of the successful bids, the availability of resources, and the satisfactory agreement and implementation of partnerships' Delivery Plans, we intend to make available over £1 billion of funding for 163 successful bids, which include proposals to address key priorities such as social exclusion, education, employment and training, community safety and prevention of drug misuse.
§ Mr. WoodwardTo ask the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions how many Single Regeneration Budget funded projects are underway in each of the Government office regions of England. [91510]
§ Mr. MealeThere are 517 SRB schemes currently operating in England. Information on the number of projects involved in each scheme is not held centrally. The following is the number of schemes by Government office region:
