§ Mr. MealeAn Explanatory Memorandum (EM12791/98) on the proposal for a Council Directive on the incineration of waste was submitted to Parliament on 30 November 1998. Expert consultants are currently finalising a report on the proposal, on the basis of which a Regulatory and Environmental Impact Assessment will shortly be submitted to Parliament under a Supplementary Explanatory Memorandum.
