§ Dr. HowellsOverall, the Package Travel Regulations 1992 are serving consumers well. Around 30 million holiday and travel packages are sold in this country each year, and produce relatively few problems. However, I am keeping the effectiveness of the Regulations under review and will not hesitate to act if necessary.
The Foreign Package Holidays (Tour Operators and Travel Agents) Order which came into force on 16 November 1998 will help consumers to shop around to get the best deals.
