To ask the Prime Minister what guidelines he has established for the use of No. 10 Downing street for hospitality funded by non-Government sources; and if he will list those occasions on which such hospitality has been offered since May 1997. [71160]

The Prime Minister

Ministers under this and previous Governments have been allowed—at their own or party expense—to host non-official or party receptions or functions in Downing street, as set out formally by this Government in paragraph 63 of theMinisterial Code.

Since 1 May 1997, 22 political functions and 15 charity events have been held at 10 Downing street. All have been held in accordance with the rules set out in the Ministerial Code.
