§ Mr. McLeishI have arranged to have placed in the Library a list of those holding commissions as temporary sheriffs on 15 January, showing dates of first appointment in that capacity.
From 1 July 1999 this will be a matter for the Scottish Parliament.

§ Mr. McLeishOn 15 January 131 commissions as temporary sheriffs were in force. Of these(a) 84 were solicitors, (b) 47 were advocates, (c) 16 were female, (d) 7 were under age 40, (e) 5 were aged 60 to 64 and (f) 7 were aged 65 or over.
From 1 July 1999 this will be a matter for the Scottish Parliament.
