677WThe following capital allocations have been made to local authorities in England under the capital receipts initiative:
£ 1997–98 174,270,000 1998–99 569,359,000 1999–2000 570,169,000 The total resources for housing capital allocations in 2000–01 and 2001–02, which show substantial increases on the 1999–2000 figure and deliver the remainder of the additional £5 billion for investment in housing that we are making available during the current Parliament, were announced last summer following the Comprehensive Spending Review. Decisions have yet to be made about the distribution of these resources between different programmes. We have recently consulted on a proposal to combine capital receipts initiative and other housing capital support (apart from that for disabled facilities grants) into a single funding regime from 2000–01 onwards. The outcome of this consultation exercise will be announced shortly.
