HC Deb 02 February 1999 vol 324 cc582-3W
Mr. Hoyle

To ask the Secretary of State for Trade and Industry what publicity his Department has given to its internet web sites dedicated to Trade UK for small and medium-sized enterprises; and if he will list the web sites. [68463]

Mr. Wilson

[holding answer 1 February 1999]: My Department is promoting the TradeUK internet service at www.tradeuk.com to two main audiences: first, as a service for UK exporters and potential exporters and, second, as a service for buyers abroad wishing to source goods and services from the UK. For the UK audience the main links to TradeUK now in place are via the Overseas Trade Services (www.dti.gov.uk/ots/) and Enterprise Zone (www.enterprisezone.org.uk) websites. We are also giving publicity to the TradeUK web site in its own right and working with other Departments, agencies and trade associations to develop reciprocal links to and from TradeUK. We are signposting foreign buyers to TradeUK from websites of British Embassies and Consulates around the world.
