§ Mr. ByersI have today announced jointly with the Wellcome Trust and the Higher Education Funding Council for England details of the awards from round 2 of the Joint Infrastructure Fund (JIF). Over £320 million has been awarded to 45 successful applicants across 27 universities across the United Kingdom.
The projects awarded funding cover the broad spectrum of science and engineering. They range from projects costing £750,000 to over £30 million.
There are a further 3 rounds of the JIF with decision points in March and November 2000 and March 2001.
