To ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer (1) if he will estimate how many people over the age of 65 years will have a marginal rate of income tax of(a) nil, (b) 10 per cent., (c) 20 per cent., (d) 23 per cent. and (e) 40 per cent. in (i) 1998–99 and (ii) 1999–2000; [79359]

(2) if he will estimate how many pensioners will have a marginal rate of income tax of (a) nil, (b) 10 per cent., (c) 20 per cent., (d) 23 per cent. and (e) 40 per cent. in 1999–2000. [79360]
