§ Mr. Straw[holding answer 15 April 1999]"Public Bodies 1998"—copies of which are available in the Library of the House—provides information on the levels of remuneration paid to those serving on the boards of public bodies for which my Department is responsible. In addition to those, there are the following paid public appointments:
Immigration and Asylum Bill. Schedule 6, paragraph 5(1) of the Bill enables the Secretary of State to prescribe by order fees for the registration or continued registration of persons on the register. There are no plans for designated professional bodies to contribute to these costs.
