§ 21. Mr. StringerTo ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what representations he has received on the working families tax credit. [79465]
§ Dawn PrimaroloThe Chancellor has received a number of very helpful and constructive representations which have informed the development of WFTC and DPTC. And I have also had useful meetings with representative groups. In addition, the Inland Revenue continue to consult on a regular basis with a wide range of interested parties, on the details of the scheme and its administration.
§ 30. Fiona MactaggartTo ask the Chancellor of the Exchequer what plans he has to evaluate the impact of the working families tax credit. [79474]
§ Dawn PrimaroloThe Government believe that the WFTC will create a strong new incentive for people with children to move into work and up the earnings scale, and provide a welcome boost to the incomes of low and middle income families with children. We naturally want to assess the effects of the new policy and ensure that it is achieved in the most effective way. We will therefore be carrying out a full evaluation of the impact of the WFTC.
