HC Deb 29 October 1998 vol 318 c295W
Mr. Jenkins

To ask the Secretary of State for Health what recent representations he has received from(a) organisations and (b) hon. Members regarding Sudden Death Syndrome. [57136]

Mr. Hutton

Ministers have received twenty-eight letters about sudden death syndrome, almost all of which were from, or on behalf of, representatives of the organisation Cardiac Risk in the Young. Of these, 20 were from hon. Members and the remaining eight were from members of the public.

Most of the representations received pressed for wider recognition of the impact made by sudden death, particularly in the young, and included requests for consideration of funding under the Section 64 scheme.
