§ Ms Glenda JacksonWe intend to make regulations to enable private hire vehicle operator licensing to commence in London during the course of next year. Vehicle and driver licensing would follow as soon as practicable—it is hoped during the year 2000. Swift implementation of the Act is desirable; it is also important that we get the details right and allow sufficient time for consultation.
