To ask the Secretary of State for Social Security for what reasons he has not provided a substantive reply to the right hon. Member for Manchester, Gorton, following his holding answer of 30 July 1998 with regard to Mrs. H. Nasrin, 58 Clitheroe Road. [55392]

A substantive reply was sent to my right hon. Friend the Member for Manchester, Gorton (Mr. Kaufman) on 16 September.

I have written today to all right hon. and hon. Members setting out targets for improving the Department's service in relation to correspondence.
