HC Deb 19 October 1998 vol 317 cc942-3W
Mr. Clifton-Brown

To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what use(a) his Department and (b) its agencies are currently making of the Government Purchase Card; what savings he estimates are being achieved as a result; what plans he has to expand use of the card by his Department and its agencies; and if he will make a statement. [55167]

Mr. Ron Davies

My Department does not, currently, use the Government Purchase Card. However, we have accepted the offer via the Treasury of a consultancy to undertake a cost/benefit analysis of the introduction of the card. A decision on whether or not to introduce the card will be made in the light of the consultancy report.
