§ Mr. BoatengThe effectiveness of police forces is measured against performance indicators identified by the Home Office, the Audit Commission and Her Majesty's Inspectorate of Constabulary (HMIC) and the Association of Chief Police Officers. The indicators are designed to cover the most important aspects of service delivery. Detailed comparative analysis of performance based on the indicators is included in the published HMIC inspection reports.
