§ Mr. MilburnThe Department accepts the need for specialised rehabilitation services for people recovering from brain injury. It commissioned a study on the subject, the National Traumatic Brain Injury Study, which was published in April 1998. Officials are now working on the production of guidance outlining management models for the treatment of traumatic brain injury. Consultation on the guidance will take place with the National Health Service and the voluntary sector.
