§ Dr. CableTo ask the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions what planning assumptions the Government have made about the number and type of aircraft movements at the London airports in 15 years' time. [60644]
§ Ms Glenda JacksonIn 1997, my Department published "Air Traffic Forecasts for the United Kingdom", which look ahead to 2015 and include assumptions about the number of aircraft movements and average plane loads in the London airports system. Copies of this document are available in the House library. BAA and other London airport operators also prepare forecasts of this nature. The implications of these forecasts will be considered during the preparation of the UK airports policy announced in the "New Deal for Transport" White Paper.
