§ Mr. SpellarDesign parameters of Flight Data Recorders and Cockpit Voice Recorders (generally known as 'Black Boxes', are set out in Defence Standards 00-970 `Design and Airworthiness Requirements for Service Aircraft'. These are kept under review to reflect civil and military experience and are aligned with relevant civil requirements as defined by the European Organisation for Civil Aviation Equipment (EUROCAE).
