§ Mr. MilburnThe number of clerical and administrative staff employed by the National Health Service in England as at 30 September 1997 was 131,860 whole-time equivalents. Figures relating to other times of the year are not collected centrally. Figures for September 1998 are currently being collected and will be published in due course.
