[59784]
§ Mr. FoulkesI have been asked to reply.
Information on individual projects is held by the European Commission. I will place it in the Library as soon as possible.
The objectives of the programme are to promote understanding in Central and Eastern Europe of the EU' s pre-accession strategy, the Europe Agreements and the role of Phare as the main financial instrument of the strategy, and more broadly to promote understanding of the EU and the implications of accession. Activities which meet these objectives are approved by the Commission for management by the Commission services or candidate country Governments.
Management and monitoring of the programme is carried out by the Commission. Member States receive a report on the activities of the previous year before approving commitments for the current year.
