§ Ms Glenda JacksonThe United Kingdom's total contribution to EU finances is not hypothecated to individual programmes such as the transport Trans European Network (TEN) programme. In common with the other 14 Member States, the United Kingdom has no automatic entitlement to TEN funding. However, we have, as detailed in my reply of 3 November 1998,Official Report, columns 465-66, been successful in securing awards of TEN funding since the commencement of the transport TEN programme in 1995, and expect that we shall continue to be successful in securing funds for United Kingdom projects and studies in the future.
