HC Deb 12 November 1998 vol 319 c264W
Mr. Laurence Robertson

To ask the Secretary of State for Education and Employment what plans he has to allow parents at feeder schools to grammar schools to take part in any ballots to decide the future of the grammar schools; how he defines a feeder school; what plans he has to extend the ballot to parents of children at other primary and secondary schools; and if he will make a statement. [59389]

Ms Estelle Morris

Our proposals setting out how parents might participate in any ballot about whether grammar schools should cease to have selective admission arrangements are set out in the draft Education (Grammar School Ballots) Regulations 1998. The regulations were laid before Parliament on 21 October and are due to be debated by both Houses within the next few days.
