To ask the Secretary of State for the Home Department how many individuals have received permission to enter or remain in the UK under the concession introduced in October 1997 for people in relationships. [58339]

In the 12 months ending September 1998, a provisional total of 383 people have been granted leave to enter or remain in the United Kingdom under the concession for unmarried partners announced on 10 October 1997.
