To ask the Secretary of State for Wales what progress is being made in developing the rural partnership for Wales. [56593]

Mr. Hain

The inaugural meeting of the Rural Partnership for Wales will be held on 12 November at the University of Wales, Aberystwyth.

Its membership, which comprises 26 organisations, will bring together a wide range of interests and expertise and be a valuable source of ideas for tackling the many diverse issues affecting rural Wales.
