HC Deb 02 November 1998 vol 318 c307W
Mr. Colman

To ask the Secretary of State for the Environment, Transport and the Regions what plans he has to review the procedure of westerly preference for incoming flights to Heathrow Airport. [57417]

Ms Glenda Jackson

I refer my hon. Friend to the statement I made to the House on 24 July 1998,Official Report, column 1413, in which I said that we intend to invite views on modifying the operation of westerly preference at Heathrow at night in the second-stage consultation paper on night restrictions, to be issued shortly. There are no plans to review its use during the day.
