§ Dr. ReidA number of inquiries have been received by my Department concerning the possible impact of the Strategic Defence Review on the Cadet Forces. No decisions have yet been taken on the Strategic Defence Review but the Government fully recognise the contribution made by the Cadet Forces to national life, and Defence Ministers have made their support for the cadets clear on several occasions.
